Diablo 4 is free-to-play for a very limited time

Running alongside the Steam autumn sale, Blizzard has revealed that Diablo IV is free-to-play for a trial week running from 22 to 28 November.

Since being released in June of this year, Diablo IV has had somewhat of a rollercoaster life span. From being Blizzard’s fastest selling game ever to getting review bombed on Steam, the latest instalment in the ARPG series is not going down without a fight.

That is why Blizzard is offering players the chance to experience a free trial week for Diablo IV on Steam as well as offering 40% off all versions of the game. That means if you enjoy your time in Sanctuary and wish to play the full game, you can grab the standard edition for £35.99 rather than a massive £59.99. If you wish to splash out even more, you can buy the digital deluxe edition for £47.99 rather than £79.99. This will include various cosmetics and a battle pass unlock.

Alongside the free trial, Diablo IV is currently running the Mother’s Blessing event which boosts XP and Gold by 35% until 27 November. This is good for concurrent players but makes it a bit more difficult for free-trial users as the trial does have a catch. You will only be able to progress until level 20 which, with extra XP, will happen quite quickly. As a result, it is unclear how much play time you will actually be able to have.

In good news, any progress you do make will be carried over if you decide to make a full purchase. Additionally, Diablo IV is still a live game and is regularly updated with seasonal activities, new cosmetics and events.
