Fallout meets The Last Of Us and Days Gone in new zombie survival adventure

Fallout meets The Last Of Us and Days Gone in new zombie survival adventure

Dark days are coming to a Texan city

There’s just something about zombie survival games that pull us in. Maybe it’s the fact that we’re always fighting for our lives, or maybe we just love the jumpscares that force our souls to leave our bodies.

Whatever the reasons, there’s a new game on the block that’s dying to sink its teeth into you.

Allow us to set the scene: this upcoming horror survival is a mix between Fallout and The Last of Us set in 1980s Texas. The city of Walton is soon set upon by hordes of the undead, forcing the survivors to come together to try and make it out alive.

Will you survive Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days?

This horizontal scroller will have you traversing the city, your characters having to adapt in order to survive what’s to come. In a lot of ways, its aesthetic is reminiscent of Little Nightmares in that you predominantly look through buildings with the front cut away, however, the horrors here are past friends and loved ones.

Given how we’ve all just learned who’s been cast as Abby in HBO’s The Last of Us, many of us are in need of a much-needed zombie boost. Sadly, Steam’s Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days has no release date as of yet, meaning we could be waiting a while before we get to visit Walton City for ourselves.

Nonetheless, while there’s no official launch date given, the devs are keeping active, livestreaming their “diaries” to show the progress and development of the game. In short, while we can’t kill zombies just yet, we can have a peek behind the scenes.

This downtime before release means you can prepare for what’s to come, or not if you’re so cocksure you’ll survive. Us? Oh, we’re just sketching out shelter designs ready for when the darkest days of Walton City come for us all.
