PC gamers can grab 6 free Steam games right now

Steam users can now grab State of Survival, CSOL, Project Z, Cecelia, Catch Royale, and Sludge Life: The Big Mud Sessions at no cost at all.

Here at GAMINGbible, we love to keep you up to date on the latest major releases. The thing is though, gaming can be a pretty pricey hobby and we want to make sure that it's something that’s accessible to all.

With that in mind, we also like to ensure that you’re in the know on all the latest free offerings - and Steam is packed full with plenty of free hidden gems. Whether you’re low on budget, or you’re just looking for a new download to while away a few hours, you’re in the right place. As reported by SteamGamesPC, Steam users can now grab State of Survival, CSOL, Project Z, Cecelia, Catch Royale, and Sludge Life: The Big Mud Sessions at no cost at all - and I’m here to guide you through exactly what each game consists of.

Take a look at the Tag-inspired Catch Royale below.

We’ll kick things off with State of Survival. A survival RPG, State of Survival was released earlier this month by FunPlus International AG. In this online PvP entry, you’ll (rather unsurprisingly) face off against hordes of zombies. The main issue with State of Survival is that while it’s free-to-play, there are a number of pay-to-win style elements, so you may be limited with how much progress you can make. That aside though, the gameplay has got the seal of approval from players.

CSOL is a multiplayer online co-op shooter, released by FPS OL. There are three modes in total: Free For All, Team Death Match, and Capture The Flag - pretty standard shooter fare. It’s then back to zombies for Project Z, a tower defence game developed by Parisi Interactive Games. It’s the perfect time to dive in as devs have only released the game’s first three levels, so it shouldn’t take long to work through what players are calling an “engaging” experience.

Cecelia has piqued my interest. Developed by Aifir Interactive, the synopsis reads, “A mysterious island. A giant baby made of stone awakens. Learn to trust each other if you want to explore the perilous terrain, seeking answers from the island's enigmatic call and an ominous force awaiting you in the distant lighthouse.” Players described the game as “decent” and “worth a try”, particularly as you can zoom through the story in under an hour.

Catch Royale is the latest from Atzi_ Games - and it’s got potential. This free-to-play battle royale is a twist on the classic playground game Tag. There are 100 or 250-player modes and you’ll need to try and tag all of the foxes. Or you could sabotage your team’s efforts and free the foxes. Your final game offering today is Sludge Life: The Big Mud Sessions. Developed by Terri Vellmann and Doseone and published by Devolver Digital, Sludge Life: The Big Mud Sessions boasts a very cool art style.

It’s essentially a ‘self-contained interlude’ set between Sludge Life 1 and 2, so if you’ve never tried out that game, this is the perfect taste of what to expect. The main Sludge Life boasts a respectable score of 73 on Metacritic. In this free interlude, you can sample 10 minutes of gameplay. All of the above freebies are available right now.
