Red Dead Redemption 2 meets The Witcher in free Steam download

It's time to wrangle some monsters once more

Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 can become a gunslinger once more, only this time with a supernatural twist.

Steam game, Soulslinger: Envoy of Death, tells the story of a character stuck in limbo. Players must journey with them as they fight in “a gritty war against The Cartel”.

These bad guys are “a ruthless organisation harvesting souls to break free of the shackles of the afterlife”, which sounds pretty standard for limbo, but who are we to say...

Are you ready to become the Soulslinger: Envoy of Death?

Armed with your trusty gun and “incredible powers”, you need uncover the secrets behind The Cartel’s plans, as well as confront your own actions. Will history remember you as an ally or an enemy?

Given its fantasy-based setting, there’s a lot of The Witcher elements mixed in with the Wild West vibes of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Since its launch in December 2023, Soulslinger: Envoy of Death has faced a mixed response from gamers. However, while not everyone is sold on this Steam game, there’s plenty of positive reviews to be found.

“It's a beautiful game with fun combat,” shared one player, before adding, “But it is not without its improvement potential.”

Someone else commented, “I like the ingredients here [...] The graphics are polished and the game runs smoothly. There's an interesting story which, if handled correctly, has the potential to be great.”

You can see for yourselves what these players are talking about because the demo is free to download, meaning you can try before you commit and buy. Should you like what you see and want to purchase Soulslinger: Envoy of Death, the game is priced at £14.99.

“Forge your own destiny” in limbo – you might just become the hero of this tale or live long enough to become the villain. You decide.
