Steam's latest free game is a delightful single-player puzzler you can sink hours into

Worth it for the pun title alone

This might be one of the cutest puzzle games ever. How does this sound for a game description? "Can you help an adventurous marshmallow fulfil its dream of becoming a tasty S'More?"

Then, once you've seen this goshdarn cutie of a marshmallow in a kind of cel-shaded world, you're going to want to know s'more.

One S'More will be the perfect Steam Deck game.

One S'More has a great cartoon vibe, almost like your favourite Saturday morning TV viewing, with bold colours and subtle expressions.

It's almost hilarious that the developer knows that the cute marshmallow game is going to break our brains with its puzzling, as we see from the blurb. "Watch your mind crumble as you break apart islands and rearrange the whole world to help your little marshmallow friend reach their goal of getting squished between two chocolate cookies."

This one is going to make you hungry as each level ends with the gooey little guy getting squished between salty and sweet crackers. Apparently, the goal in each level is to ferry the little squishy across an ocean of foodstuffs by creating and breaking apart cookie islands, moving them towards the final crackers.

The game will release in 2024 with a full campaign, but also a level editor for those bedroom puzzlers to craft some fiendish levels of their own. I can't think of any other game I've written about that's made me this hungry, it's really appealing to my sweet tooth. It's giving me old school Chu Chu Rocket vibes, funnelling a creature through levels by changing the environment, rather than controlling the character.

One S'More is going to be bringing sweetness and saccharine visuals to Steam soon, but there is a free demo that's available to enjoy right now. There's no notes on whether this will appear on consoles, but it would certainly find a large audience.
