The Last Of Us meets Fallout in free Steam download

Worlds really are colliding in this upcoming survival game

Be it through the heartbreak of The Last of Us or the ferocity of Fallout, many of us enjoy the mayhem that ensues whenever we play survival games. There’s just something about being thrown into a dangerous world that we seem to enjoy, though I suspect that wouldn’t be the case if we woke up tomorrow and the apocalypse had arrived.

Arguably, this is part of the reason we’re looking forward to an upcoming Steam game we’ve had wishlisted for some time now; blending together two iconic games, it gives us an innovative experience.

Pacific Drive may not sound like a survival game from its title alone, but we assure you you’ll be tested to your limits as you try to survive the ordeals awaiting you. In the words of devs, you’ll “drive like hell to make it through alive”.

We're all in for Pacific Drive already – it looks like a totally chaotic adrenaline pumping ride

“It’s you and your station wagon against an unforgiving, vicious world. It’ll take more than a fresh set of tires to keep you alive, on and off the road. Your faithful wagon can be upgraded and reinforced to protect you, but the car is going to take a beating,” the description reads.

What’s most intriguing about this title is the fact it combines the fear factor that The Last of Us and Fallout has thanks to its enemies, but in a fast paced format more indicative of racing games. It sounds like beautiful, hair raising chaos.

Fans eager to get behind the wheel are psyched that its launch is only weeks away now. “Can’t wait to try it! Been excited about this one,” posted one fan, while another said, “SWEET! Gonna see if it works on my Steam Deck. This game looks awesome.”

For those who don’t normally play on a PC, fear not, because Pacific Drive is coming to PS5 as well. As if the PS wasn’t having an amazing enough week already, now its gamers get to bag themselves yet another title denied to Xbox users. Big L vibes for Xbox, we feel.

PC players are able to sample the thrill of Pacific Drive for free via its Steam demo, and can enjoy 10 percent saving by preordering the game ready for when it launches 22 Feb.
