So many games fly under the radar, which is certainly the case with Bright Memory which released back in 2020 to a relatively muted response. Since then the Steam community has rallied around the game complimenting it in various areas.
From the trailer on the Steam page, it's pretty clear that the game is the weird baby of Halo meets Tomb Raider in its "lightning-fast fusion of the FPS and action genres, created by one-man development studio FYQD using Unreal Engine"
Tomb Raider is in need of a new game, fans have been waiting a while
Players can "Combine a wide variety of skills and abilities to unleash dazzling combo attacks" and take in a complex story that "depicts the maiden adventure of a woman named Shelia in the year 2020." While the game isn't overly long, it is a great showcase for what a one person studio can achieve with Unreal Engine. And it seems many players are happy with the game, though some believe it's nothing more than a demo with one user saying "It's criminal how short this game is cause I would have loved to play for hours and hours."

There are a few positives to urge you into playing this cheap shooter, "Graphics are amazing" and another who says "very fun to play." From what we've seen it's a beautiful example of a sci-fi shooter that accompanies moments of parkour. Plus, it seems the combat is really satisfying "Combat is great, you can mix up guns/swords/skills effortlessly to make combos and satisfyingly murder all the enemies."
Another Steam user classes Bright Memory as an "indie DOOM" which can definitely be seen as a compliment. Who wouldn't want their games lumped in with one of the finest shooters of all-time? For such a short experience, it's well worth giving this a go.
