The Elder Scrolls 6 teaser gives fans exactly what they want

The Elder Scrolls 6 teaser gives fans exactly what they want

The wait is painful, but it'll all be worth it in the end... It has to be

The Elder Scrolls VI is happening. It is. It’s just going to take most of our lifetime for it to launch, meaning we’ll likely have passed on by the time Bethesda announces its release date. Still, what’s been teased thus far does seem to hint at a game worth cheating death for.

It’s been 84 years… Okay, so it’s actually been six years, but it feels longer because of how prematurely the game was announced. Ask any Elder Scrolls fans and they’ll tell you that releasing a trailer that early was a mistake.

Nonetheless, while Bethesda clearly has some bridges to repair, especially after Starfield, it has managed to win us back with talk of The Elder Scrolls VI being the “the ultimate fantasy-world simulator”.

For those looking for Elder Scrolls like titles, Reign of Guilds is one you'll want to stick around for

Skyrim succeeds so well in giving gamers what they want – to the point that we refuse to acknowledge the age of the game, instead choosing to focus on whether we can eat ourselves to death just for funsies.

But it doesn’t have that truly immersive quality that we’re expecting – no, demanding – from the next Elder Scrolls game. We want to be able to almost taste the very air of the game, though we doubt Todd Howard can come through on that feature, even though he’d likely promise as much.

In truth though, we just want to see this game launch, much like the Skyrim loving grandma who fears she’ll be dead before Elder Scrolls VI comes out. If Bethesda and Todd aren’t going to do it for the majority of the fandom, at least do it for grandma.

As far as we’re aware, and according to Bethesda, the next Elder Scrolls saga is still in its “design phase”, which doesn’t exactly instil confidence that it’s headed for release any time soon.

But where there’s gamers there is hope, and where there’s hope there are fools, but fools we must be if we’re to get the kind of features we want to see in this RPG.
