It’s already looking like a must-play for Lord Of The Rings fans, but it gets even better, as a recent trailer for the game marks the return of a fan-favourite dwarf, who’s been played by the same actor as the films.

John Rhys-Davies, who played Lord Gimli Lockbearer will reprise his iconic role as part of the official voice cast of the game, much to the excitement of fans everywhere.

Gimli will join the other dwarves who are seeking to reclaim their long-lost home of Moria, which they’ll accomplish through exploration, careful planning, and teamwork as they uncover the secrets that lurk beneath the Misty Mountains.

The game, launching on PC and later Xbox, will revolve around survival-crafting mechanics, as the mines of Moria are completely darkened and longing to be ventured into. Players will need to dig for equipment, resources and more to aid them on their quest, housing the treasures they find in buildable bases where they can be turned into more useful items.

That’s not all though, as mining can be tiring and dangerous work, meaning players will have to take good care of themselves to stay alive. This involves managing food, sleep and temperature levels, whilst also battling the creatures that live beneath eh surface of the mountains.

Co-operative multiplayer will also be supported for up to eight players, so you can build a sizeable team and make the quest much easier.

Fans will be able to join Lord Gimli Lockbearer in The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria on 24 October on PC, with an Xbox Series X/S release coming shortly after.
