Amouranth agrees getting banned on Twitch is a 'great marketing tactic'

Twitch streamer Amouranth believes getting banned on Twitch is the new ‘meta’ tactic for fame and notoriety.

Amouranth herself will know a lot about bans, as she’s received several over her time as a Twitch streamer. Her controversial hot-tub streams almost landed her in hot water as many questioned whether it was appropriate content for livestreams.

Despite many close calls, the streamer has remained active on Twitch, amassing millions of followers and making a lot of money in the process, whether through donations or promoting her other platforms.

Now though, the streaming superstar has discussed Twitch bans, believing it’s actually one the best ways to become a popular streamer, even if it is a risky strategy.

In an interview with Rumble star TheQuartering, Amouranth addressed the comment about bans being a ‘great marketing strategy’, saying: “It can be … The only thing that can be negative is the duration. I’ve never tried to get banned on purpose, I just feel that it’s too risky and you never know when they’re going to decide to hit you with a seven-day or a thirty-day [ban].”

Amouranth then provided an example of a streamer who accidentally left their streaming camera on while having sex with their partner, which quickly went viral and resulted in a huge spike in views and followers for the streamer. While Twitch swiftly doled out a ban, it only lasted for a week.

Amouranth said whether intentional or not, it “worked well for her,” considering the limited time she was banned, and went on to say: “She was a nobody streamer anyway. It like, put her on the map.”

While committing bannable offences on live streams is not encouraged, there’s no denying when a situation or clip goes viral, it does wonders for a small-time streamer’s viewer count, provided it’s not something too severe.
