The release of Starfield is nearly upon us and as the days draw near, fans are learning more about the features of the upcoming sci-fi RPG from Bethesda.
Starfield has been 20 years in the making, at least according to Bethesda. Now, thanks to modern-day technology, that dream is coming to fruition with the game recently confirmed as going gold, which means that it's completed its main phase of development.

The sci-fi RPG also promises to be the largest video game that Bethesda has ever developed, not only boasting the largest city it has ever created but also over 1000 planets and 100 star systems for players to explore. I think it's fair to say that Starfield should keep us all busy for a very long time indeed.

However, it was previously reported that only 10% of the 1000 planets in the game will have meaningful signs of life. In other words, we can look at Starfield as having 100 premium planets, if you will. Yet, what of the remaining 900 (ish) planets, will they still be explorable? Apparently so.
For select members of the media and content creators, early review codes for Starfield have been set free into the wild offering drips of new information. That being said, as a result, spoilers are also in the wild too, so please be careful when browsing social media posts.
One devoted Xbox fan asked Pete Hines, the head of publishing at Bethesda, when landing on a planet, will we be able to explore it in its entirety? To which Hines replied: “Yup, if you want. Walk on, brave explorer.”
In related news, Starfield players are already losing entire nights to the game and a developer has hit back at leaked screenshots that were recently shared on social media.

Starfield has a release date of 6 September 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unless you’ve pre-ordered the Premium or Constellation Edition. If so, then your release date is 1 September. Starfield will also launch on Xbox Game Pass.
