Xbox update adds highly requested feature for Game Pass subscribers

Xbox update adds highly requested feature for Game Pass subscribers

It's the small changes that make a big difference

At this stage in the game, updates to any console are more about improving quality of life for users rather than introducing anything overly innovative. However, that doesn’t mean we’re not going to get excited about this Xbox update that will change the lives of Game Pass subscribers.

We need this pick-me-up after learning about the Xbox 720 and how we were robbed of an iconic console, instead receiving the Xbox One, arguably the worst of Xbox’s devices thus far. This update won’t remedy that loss, but it’ll definitely make the lives of many gamers better.

It’s such a simple change, introducing dialogue that informs Xbox Game Pass players when a game is leaving the service, as well as offering an “easy path to purchase the game to keep playing even after it has left”.

We can't wait until Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is released!

Waiting for Game Pass announcements is a tedious affair and, unless you keep referring back to its details, it’s easy to forget what games are coming and which are going. In short, we can be left surprised when we go to load a game and it’s no longer free.

This update intends to change that, making sure to clearly inform users of upcoming changes; it's subtle yet effective in how it’ll change the experience for subscribers.

Of course, there are other changes included in this update that’ll benefit all Xbox users, not just Game Pass players, such as addressing known issues and updating local languages. Again, these aren’t earth shattering tweaks, however, they’ll impact users greatly all the same.

Xbox Insider Release Notes are all about community, meaning you should always give Microsoft feedback should you face additional issues, or you find the latest update lacking. All the changes detailed should now be in effect for all users – you might have even seen the Game Pass notifications already.

After being requested for so long, we’re glad that Xbox finally listened to us.
