A bunch of these headsets do not come cheap, so you may be bemoaning your disappointing (and expensive) purchase but it turns out, there may be a very simple fix.

YouTuber John Glasscock has pointed out why you may be experiencing poor audio quality. It’s actually due to the fact that the USB dongle that connects your wireless headphones to your console may be overheating. As John points out, most users place the dongle in one of the rear USB slots of the PS5 to keep it out of the way, but these USB slots are actually flanked by the PS5s external air vents.

This means that while you’re gaming, the warm air vented out of your console is actually causing the headset dongle to overheat. This will lead to breakups in audio quality, so the solution is simple. Use the front-facing USB slot.
