Best Boss Ever Surprises Employee With PlayStation 5

The two have been friends for fourteen years.

In what could be the most comedic surprise to date, this boss secretly bought his friend a PlayStation 5 and pretended to haul him over the coals for a telling off, before revealing the gift.

As we're all aware, PlayStation 5s are as rare as hen's teeth - and maybe even more so. If it isn't semiconductor scarcity that started with the coronavirus outbreak, it's delays arising from Brexit complications. If it isn't a problem with getting the stock into the United Kingdom, it's the websites that bow under the strain of supporting hundreds and hundreds of customers all looking for the same product. If it isn't issues with the websites, it's the scalpers that are soaking up the limited stock through underhanded tactics like hacks that help disguise their identity. In the business, they call it a headache and a half, and gamers are grinding their teeth while trying to find out when new deliveries will arrive at reputable retailers. Remember, forking out for double the asking price of these consoles is never worth it.

Someone who did get lucky in the latest wave of PlayStation 5s to wash up on the shores of the British Isles was diggledavies. However, he had no intention to keep the console for himself. He wanted to give it to his friend and employee, someone who he's known for fourteen years and someone who had "resigned himself to not getting one for months." Handing the PlayStation 5 over with a ribbon and perhaps a shower of confetti wouldn't do the job for diggledavies, though. In the video uploaded to Reddit, he asks his friend to come into the office and explain themselves, pretending that there's a disciplinary inbound.

Silently, he jerks his head to invite them into the room and then steps back with his hands in his pockets. "You got something to say to me?" they ask, and their friend shakes their head. "I don't know what you mean mate?" they claim, to which the boss says: "Man up and say what you gotta say." The friend is very confused, and tries to defuse the situation. "I haven't said nothing to you," they continue. "I haven't got nothing to say to you." The boss then points to the stairs (where the PlayStation 5 has been hiding all this time), and replies, "What about 'thank you'?"

The friend peers round the banister, and he's delighted to discover that the disciplinary isn't real after all. To those not from the UK, it might sound like the joke hasn't gone well and they're irritated at each other as they swear and trade insults. Don't worry, this is just what we're like.
