'Call Of Duty: Vanguard' Has PlayStation-Exclusive Perks Have Annoyed Everyone

Hold your applause, please.

Call of Duty: Vanguard offers those playing on PlayStation some exclusive goodies! Yay! The only thing is that they’re actually pretty pitiful! Oh.

The campaign centres on Task Force One, the origins of the original Special Forces who were pivotal to protecting the fragile peace after the end of the Second World War. Sledgehammer Games, who developed Call Of Duty: World War II, was conscious that there are lots of other equally important stories to tell in this particular period and to reflect that, the game will be set in an enormous variety of locations.

“You had battles happening on the snowy landscapes of Stalingrad, over the Solomon Islands in the Pacific, and in North Africa,” said creative director David Swenson. We got a glimpse at one of these locations in the new Caldera map which is coming to Warzone towards the end of November, and marks the “last dance” for Verdansk.

While Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War gave PlayStation players exclusive game modes in Special Ops Survival and Zombies Onslaught, the studio hasn’t added anything like this for the latest game. The Vanguard and Warzone Battle Pass Bundle, which includes one season’s Battle Pass plus 20 tier skips on all platforms, will add another five tier skips for those on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

On top of that, PlayStation Plus members are eligible for a free in-game bundle with a new Operator Skin, Weapon Blueprint and “much more,” and a new bundle will be rolled out with every season. “In the spirit of teamwork, PlayStation players that play together in parties receive +25% bonus weapon XP,” read the post on the PlayStation Blog. “PlayStation players can look forward to exclusive Monthly Double XP events, lasting 24 hours in duration each.”

Finally, PlayStation players are entitled to two extra loadout slots. I mean. This reveal isn’t as exciting as the exclusives from previous entries, so if you are a PC or Xbox player, you’re not actually missing out on much. Why the lot is so minimal this time round, I’m not sure.

Following the beta sessions in September, the studio listened to what the players said about the state of Vanguard and acted accordingly. "All of the official reports, gameplay clips, and messages have assisted our developers in squashing bugs, improving features, and refining the maps and modes for launch," said the team, and these changes even consisted of nerfing the sun.
