Hideo Kojima, the man, the myth, the legend, earlier this year posted images for a potential Death Stranding 2 online, but apparently, there aren't immediate plans to pursue a follow up to Sam Bridge's story.
An article from IGN says that rather than Kojima actively planning a Death Stranding 2, the director has been just thinking about what a sequel might look like if there ever was an opportunity to expand on the universe.
Back in June, Kojima casually posted a picture of his work and some music he was listening to while developing projects. A stack of papers showed a sketch at the front which one eagle-eyed fan realised said Bridges on the side - Bridges being both the last name of the protagonist and the name of the company attempting to reconnect a fractured America that the game is based in.
IGN then got the opportunity to ask the developer what he really meant by posting the concept art to which he responded "I'm always thinking about ideas as I'm working on games. These aren't major plans, but just fragments of new ideas. I think about these ideas myself, and then I explain them to other people, in order to get opinions about them. For example, I'll ask Yoji [Shinkawa] if he is sitting next to me.

"Oftentimes, he'll create some drawings based on my ideas, and show them to me a few days later. The image I tweeted recently was one of these drawings."
Kojima Productions is already working away on its next creation but we have no idea what that could be at the moment. There is a possibility that the next game will be another Death Stranding, or Kojima could venture back towards his Metal Gear Solid beginnings with something more action-orientated rather than a gentle walking simulator.
Honestly, Hideo Kojima just needs to make a film at this point, we feel like with all of the actors he befriends that that's a good step for him to take.
