Every now and then a little piece of trivia starts doing the rounds online again, and we get to see a new wave of people express their genuine amazement as they discover something they had no idea about. It's kind of beautiful.
The PlayStation 2 is a wonderful console packed with playful little secrets and tricks that not everyone knows about. Some are well documented. Others, less so.

One of my personal favourite facts about the PlayStation 2 is that the iconic startup screen is actually slightly different for everyone. This is because the blocks on that screen actually represent the different games stored your memory card, with the height of each block corresponding to the amount of times you've booted up each game.

Now you may well already know this, and I'm thrilled for you if you do! But going by the recent response to @KirbyCheatFurby's viral tweet explaining the Easter egg, there are still an awful lot of people who had no idea this was a thing.
"Okay so 10k+ people didn't know this, so I definitely don't feel dumb for not knowing this sooner," they add in a follow-up tweet. "I legitimately thought this was awesome and wanted to share it with anyone who didn't happen to know."
While there are, of course, plenty of gamers who are incredibly familiar with this fact, there are quite literally thousands of PlayStation fans young and old expressing their surprise at this hidden feature. Others have quite rightly pointed out that this was an awesome thing to see when booting up a console, and that Sony should totally bring it back for PlayStation 5.
