Guerilla Games is wrapping up the work on porting Horizon: Zero Dawn to PC to focus all the development studio's efforts on bringing us the next game in the series: Horizon: Forbidden West. Horizon: Zero Dawn was originally a PlayStation exclusive up until August of 2020, when it came to PC platform Steam, enabling more people to enjoy the amazing action-adventure title.

It certainly looks like Guerilla Games is now buckling down to work on making the upcoming sequel the best it can be as it's all hands on deck, including the team who have been working on fixing up the PC version of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Upon release to Steam, there were plenty of player complaints regarding the game's loading times, dropping frames, and more, which made the port a little messy despite it still being an incredible title. The team at Guerilla Games released several big patches to make sure the game ran a lot better and now it looks like the current version of Zero Dawn is just as the devs envisioned it, and can now move on to new work.

In a blog post spotted by VGC, that has since been removed, the devs say that from now on, updates to the game are going to be less frequent due to the team shifting support to Horizon Forbidden West. The original post reads as follows.

"We're happy to announce that Patch 1.10 for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition is now live! This patch introduces crash fixes and performance improvements that were reported by our community. As our team continues development on our upcoming title Horizon Forbidden West, we are shifting to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch. Please note that we will continue to monitor our community spaces as always!"

The post has been updated since January 19, to mention none of these details. It now simply says, "We're happy to announce that Patch 1.10 for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on PC is now live! This patch introduces crash fixes and performance improvements that were reported by our community. You can find the full Patch Notes for Patch 1.10 below; please update your game and let us know what you think!"

Perhaps it's too soon to say that resources are fully focused on Forbidden West after all, or maybe since the latest patch, the team have released there is more work to do. Who can say?
