Feast your eyes upon this incredible PlayStation 5 that's been themed for Sucker Punch Productions' stealth saga Ghost of Tsushima. Seriously, it is gorgeous.

From the studio that made the Sly Cooper games, a historical open-world action-adventure game set in the midst of the Mongol invasions of Tsushima is a significant change from the team's bread and butter. However, the success of Ghost of Tsushima speaks for itself. Selling more than six million copies around the world, big shots in the industry took notice of the studio's dedication to detail to a culture that was worlds apart from their own. "Foreigners who tickle the fancy of Japanese people more than Japanese people are...rather amazing, no?" said Toshihiro Nagoshi, the executive director of the Yakuza games. "There's like a notion that Westerners don't understand things (about Japan), but that hypothesis itself is mistaken."

In fact, two members of the Ghost of Tsushima team have been named official tourism ambassadors of the city of Tsushima in Nagasaki, as a recognition of their work representing the island's history "with such phenomenal graphics and profound stories." What's more is that the game was nominated for more awards than I could possibly count right now, in categories like Best Storytelling, Artistic Achievement, Original Property and more. At The Game Awards 2020, it won the awards for Best Art Direction and Player's Voice, and at the BAFTA Games Awards, it snagged the award for Audio Achievement.

This PlayStation 5 honouring the exceptional experience of the game is the handiwork of Reddit user Ram-G-maN. They've swapped out the white panels for matte black ones, something that I definitely advocate for because it looks so darned swish. The centre is coated in a carbon fiber wrap to add some visual interest, and it boasts the colourful PlayStation 4 symbol. Not that there's any ambiguity about what this towering chunk of plastic and metal is, but still, it's classy. On one panel is Jin Sakai standing against a red circle, with "ghost" written in Japanese in white next to the character.

One thing: it doesn't really say "ghost." Explained by Revolyse, the word's constituent sounds haven't been swapped to a vertical orientation. In English, you can write "G H O S T" with each letter underneath the other and it's still legible as "ghost." However, what Ram-G-maN has written reads "go ichi sto" instead. Oops. Thankfully, they're aware of the mistake now and plan to change it as soon as possible.
