Behold, the power that PC players have with one of the most acclaimed games of the last generation. There's now a mod that shaves Kratos' eyebrows and beard in God Of War and it is slightly unsettling so that's your warning before you scroll any deeper into the article.

God Of War's PC port has been a smash hit on Steam, securing the record for the highest peak player count in a PlayStation port with nearly 74,000 players over the weekend. Furthermore, it plonked itself comfortably at the top of Steam's list of best-selling titles, outstripping Monster Hunter Rise, Ready Or Not, and Elden Ring when it released. All in all, it's another achievement for the amazing game.

However, with PC ports come the temptation to transform every character into Barney the Dinosaur. While we are yet to witness anything absolutely depraved on the game's entry on Nexus Mods, the scales are tipping slightly with this "Kratos No Eyebrows No Beard" mod. It's a say-what-you-see situation and what I see, I do not like.

He looks odd. Like, he looks somehow naked without the beard and I should avert my eyes to protect the man's virtue. Personally, I wouldn't be wanting to take this look into Ragnarök - if Kratos dies, he's going to die like that and it's not what you'd want on statues erected in your honour. This is just my opinion but it's one of the stronger opinions that I've got and Sony Santa Monica should hear my case before taking ye olde legendarie shaver to the character's great big bushy beard. Here's YouTuber DanteLive4Game showing off the mod in their game below:

The photo mode part is humorous, I'll give them that, but I'm still not convinced. As the game has been received so warmly by the PC community, there is a lingering question over whether or not the sequel will come to the platform sooner than the 2018 game did.

"Right now, we’re taking it one game at a time, kind of looking at each one and determining, 'Okay, is this the best thing?'" replied creative director Cory Barlog in an interview with Game Informer. "And we’ll gauge how it does. Do people enjoy it? Did we do it right? Is there anything we did wrong? What can we do better in the future if we do this again? But at the end of the day, ultimately, it’s Sony’s decision."
