Marvel's Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed "even more PlayStation advantages" for its upcoming superhero video game. This announcement comes just days after the somewhat controversial reveal that Spider-Man will be added to the game's roster of heroes in early 2021 as a PlayStation-exclusive character.

"Vince Napoli, our lead combat designer, is hard at work making Spider-Man just as great on the sticks as he is on the page," Marvel's Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics wrote on the PlayStation Blog.

"This means making sure our hero moves and fights like he should, no matter which one of our War Zones he finds himself in. When he's arcing through the air on his web line, we want you to feel graceful and light, and be able to utilize a variety of web configurations and gadgets to enhance your traversal. Spider-Man's impressive acrobatic abilities will complement the experience, allowing you to seamlessly transition from navigation to combat."

In a follow-up post on the PlayStation Blog, Crystal Dynamics' community manager Andy Wong detailed the extra exclusive content PlayStation gamers can look forward to. Thankfully it's nothing quite as a substantial as another character, but there's still a fair bit for those playing on the Sony console to sink their teeth into.

Among the numerous exclusives, PlayStation players will get 30-day access to a legendary outfit before players on Xbox One and PC. They'll also get a legendary emote, epic takedown, and nameplate for each of the game's six launch heroes. It was also confirmed that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to access the beta on August 7th. One week after that, all PS4 owners can play. PC and Xbox One owners can then get involved a week after that.

"We previously stated that we're huge Marvel fans, but we're also PlayStation fans," Wong wrote. "We are honored to be working with them to provide additional advantages to PlayStation players. PlayStation players will have exclusive access to certain Community Challenges, where the PlayStation Nation will work together to accomplish a goal in order to gain rewards specific to them."

Square Enix previously announced that it had a global marketing deal with PlayStation, and that we should expect "surprises for PlayStation players". Sure enough, PlayStation players definitely have a good amount of exclusive content to look forward to.
