'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare' Players Complain Their PS4 Consoles Are Overheating

Not a fan.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call Of Duty: Warzone have had more than a few technical hiccups between them over the last few months. But while the majority of these glitches and issues tend to get fixed by Infinity Ward fairly swiftly, some players are now reporting a problem that I don't think the developer will be able to sort out that easily.

Several users who enjoy both Modern Warfare and its free-to-play battle royale spinoff have complained that the game is making their PlayStation 4 consoles overheat and run louder than usual. If you own a PS4, I probably don't need to tell you that its fan is already incredibly loud at the best of times - something the PlayStation 5 is hoping to address.

As spotted by Game Rant, pro Call Of Duty Dillon "Attach" Price shared a clip of his PS4 being much louder than usual while playing Modern Warfare. As someone who recently played through The Last Of Us Part II, I know what it sounds like when a PS4 is struggling - and Attach's console was really struggling.

Attach's video then promoted a number of other players to share similar stories about their Call Of Duty woes on PS4. One user even demonstrated the way in which Modern Warfare seemed to be making their console overheat so badly that it would shut down.

See for yourself below.

It's worth noting that there's nothing to suggest that Modern Warfare and Warzone could be directly responsible for these issues. We all know the PS4 fan is a notorious beast, and it could be that those affected simply need to clean their vents or position their consoles in such a way that it's less likely to overheat.

However, some players seem convinced that the game's lobby screen isn't helping matters. The same user who demonstrated how their console would shut down explained that they'd tried cleaning the PS4, and pointed to the menu's 'uncapped frame rate' as the main offender.

Whatever the case, always make sure you keep your PS4 vents clear. If there's something that can be done to address this, I'm sure Infinity Ward will do so. Until then, just try not to hang around in the lobby any longer than you need to, I guess.
