Sony always appear to know exactly what their fans want, but they never seem to be too quick to actually implement things. How many times in the last year alone have we seen new PS5 updates drop that introduce stuff that people have been asking for forever? Better late than never, I suppose.

Well, PC integration has been one of these things for some time now, only Sony haven’t seemed to have taken the hint. Sure, we’ve had some PlayStation exclusives cross the barrier into multi-platform glory, but these have come out literally years after their initial releases (see God of War [2018] which came out earlier this year). However, it looks like things could be set to change - as reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, a new job listing suggests that a big move to PC gaming could be coming soon.

God of War coming to PC has invited a whole host of incredible mods for the game, like this one which replaces all the characters with familiar faces from The Simpsons - check it out below.

The listing, which is for a director of product management for “PC game experiences”, was first highlighted by Twitter user @Zuby_Tech. It reads: “This role will be asked to take the lead on the overall PC gaming experiences for PlayStation including the leadership and responsibility to implement and deliver to our players worldwide.”

As for the candidate they’re looking for, they’ll require a “deep understanding of the video game industry, especially PC, Cross Play and Cloud/Mobile based gaming needs and trends”, which on its own, sounds fairly generic. The interesting part comes from their responsibilities: “Lead & grow the PlayStation PC Game Experiences Product organisation including staffing, leadership, and employee development! Lead and evolve the PlayStation game experience roadmap for all game related experiences including SDK development, client application experiences as PlayStation network Platform integration.”

There you have it - PlayStation Network platform integration! This isn’t the first job listing this year that’s hinted at this move - last month, a role focusing on “PC sales growth” was spotted, with one of the job responsibilities being to identify “future sectors and partnerships for commercial growth” within the PC gaming sector, so it sounds like this has been in the works for a while now.

As PlayStation LifeStyle points out, there’s a chance that this new integration could be something to do with the PlayStation Plus overhaul - with Xbox Game Pass already being available on PC, it’d make sense if Sony wanted to follow suit. The updated service launches on 13 June in America, and 23 June in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, by the way, so there’s not long to wait for it.
