In case you missed it, March was Women's History Month. Celebrated across the globe, PlayStation happily joined in the occasion by shedding a light on the Girls Make Games, Black Girls CODE, and Innovate Her initiatives (who all support female developers), whilst also celebrating some of their most beloved female characters including Horizon's Aloy and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart's Rivet.

Well, PlayStation is the gift that keeps on giving. Despite the fact that Women's History Month has now in fact ended, the company is looking to "continue celebrating women in gaming" with a free gift for all PlayStation 4 users. Sorry PlayStation 5 fans, this one isn't for you unfortunately.

We actually had the chance to chat to Ashly Burch - the actor who voices Aloy as well as Tiny Tina from Borderlands, Viper in Valorant, and more - about her favourite roles from her career. Check it out here!

PlayStation are giving all PlayStation 4 users a Women's History Month free theme to update their user interface. Inspired by PlayStation's wider Women's History Month campaign, the purple and pink design features a highly-stylised female gamer in front of a background of clay-model-style PlayStation controller buttons - although the circle is replaced with the female gender sign.

Themes are a key feature of the PlayStation 4's UI, although it's a feature that's been completely abandoned when it comes to the PlayStation 5. Themes allow users to customise menu colours, edit menu layouts on the home screen and attach customisable images. The Women's History Month edition is the latest in a long line of free themes gifted to players via community events.

The theme can be claimed around the globe from the PlayStation Store using the following codes:

  • Europe: 6NN5-B2NK-XQM9
  • America: 5DGE-AKNX-CGCD
  • Japan: LDKE-4JNE-GJ57
  • Other regions: KJPP-L5NK-GCBX

Unlike previous years, the design doesn't feature any of PlayStation's iconic heroines but it's still exciting to see the console's female audience celebrated. Perhaps next year, themes might've returned to PlayStation 5 so we can all join in on the fun.
