Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced its latest acquisition - and given us a little insight into what it'll working on next.
A post over on the PlayStation Blog confirms that PlayStation Studios has officially welcomed Bluepoint Games to its ranks. Fans will know that Sony has a long history of working with Bluepoint, most notably on the PlayStation 4 remake of Shadow Of Colossus and the stunning Demon's Souls remake for PlayStation 5.

"With each of its projects, Bluepoint has raised the bar on console-defining visuals and gameplay, and the studio's vast expertise in world building and character creation will be a huge plus for future PlayStation Studios properties," writes PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst in a blog post.

"From the exceptional PS5 remake of Demon's Souls to the critically acclaimed PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus and remasters of fan favorites like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Bluepoint has built a name for itself by creating some of the highest-quality remasters and remakes in the industry."
"PlayStation has such an iconic gaming catalog and for us there's been nothing better than to bring some of gaming's masterpieces to new players," added Bluepoint president Marco Thrush. "Becoming a part of PlayStation Studios, empowers our team to raise the quality-bar even further and create even more impactful experiences for the PlayStation community."
Speaking to IGN, Thrush teased that Bluepoint's next game will be "original content". Whether or not that also means it's a brand-new IP or a return to a classic PlayStation franchise remains to be seen, but it definitely won't be a remake or remaster.

"Our next project, we're working on original content right now. We can't talk about what that is, but that's the next step in the evolution for us."
Hopefully we don't have long to wait until we find out what Bluepoint is cooking up, because Demon's Souls slapped. Hard.
