PlayStation Plus Free Games For June 2020 Announced

Sony has announced the free games PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to in June 2020. If you've been following the news, or even if you've turned on your PlayStation in the last day, you'll know that Call Of Duty: WWII was already announced as one of June's titles, and is available to download right now.

Of course, we all know that PS Plus freebies usually come in pairs, and this month is no different. Subscribers to the online service will also be able to download EA and DICE's online shooter Star Wars Battlefront II. The past and the future combine to show us that, whatever era you live in, war-based shooters often feel much the same.

Admittedly this is a very different line-up to May's free games. Cities Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 are both fantastic in their own way, but I think the lack of action or adventure in either sim left a lot of subscribers feeling cold. A shame, because if you open your heart to the thrill of pretend farms and fictional urban planning, there's no going back.

I've also no doubt that fans will be a lot happier with these two choices, but Call Of Duty: WWII and Battlefront II are... well, they're still both shooters. A little bit more variety from month to month probably wouldn't hurt, especially since last month offered two simulation games.

Ah well, free is free (provided you're a subscriber) and both titles are great. Battlefront II definitely got its share of (deserved) flack when it came out, but it's really evolved from the mess it was into a genuinely entertaining FPS stuffed to the brim with Star Wars lore. It'll be available to download from June 2nd, but note that it's the base game only - meaning none of the DLC packs that came later. Those will still cost you, if you want to check them out.

Don't forget that you'll have until June 1st to add May's games to your library, after which you can download them any time you like - provided you're still subscribed to PlayStation Plus. Make sure you don't miss out. I promise Farming Simulator 19 is way better than it sounds. Trust me.
