The PlayStation Plus free games for May 2020 have been announced. You'll be pleased to know that both are pretty much guaranteed to take up plenty of your time over the next few weeks, and both offer something of a digital window into what life was like before we all retreated indoors and were limited to minimal time outside the house.

Cities Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 are two very different kinds of simulation games, yes, but I think both are exactly what a lot of us need right now. Cities Skylines is an excellent city management sim that lets you build up a thriving metropolis from nothing. It should be a nice reminder of what it was like to see a real-life city hustling and bustling 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Meanwhile, Farming Simulator 19 is... well, it's a farming simulator. I know for a fact a lot of my friends who live in the city desperately miss the countryside right now, so this should be a great way for them to at least pretend they're getting back in touch with nature. Ironically, as someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, I miss the city... so Skylines will definitely be my jam this month.

As always, both titles will be available for free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers. Starting Tuesday, May 5th, you'll be able to add the games to your library, after which you can download and play them at any time as long as you remain a paid up member of the PS Plus service. Just remember, you'll only have until June 1st to claim 'em. Miss that window, and you've missed out.

That means you've only got until Monday, May 4th to get your hands on this month's free games. I have to say, you definitely don't want to miss out on the current crop of freebies.

Uncharted 4 is quite easily one of the best-looking and engaging action games of the last few years, and a perfect end to Nathan Drake's story. You can grab the first three Uncharted games completely free right now regardless of whether or not you're a PS Plus member, don't forget, so the entire saga is pretty much there for the taking.

April's PS Plus offerings also include the excellent Dirt Rally 2.0, a gorgeous racer that takes players to courses based across numerous real-world locations in the US, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Poland and Argentina.
