It's fair to say that the vast majority of PlayStation Plus subscribers haven't been too thrilled with the free games for October so far.
PlayStation 5 users have been able to dive into the World War II shooter Hell Let Loose, although it's proven to be a deeply divisive release that is failing to click for a lot of players. Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 subscribers have gone so far as to say they feel "insulted" by Mortal Kombat X and PGA Tour 2K21.
Many PS4 subscribers are mostly annoyed at the fact that they got Mortal Kombat X, instead of the enhanced Mortal Kombat XL - which is essentially the same game with added content.
"Ridiculous. This game is literally six years old," wrote one user of Mortal Kombat X. "Not only that, they gave us standard edition which is a bigger insult! The game is good, is just, they could have given the more complete edition of it."
"Pretty insulting to give us X and not XL when the game is so old and most people who like fighting games would have already bought it or Mortal Kombat 11 by now," added another user before admitting "it could have been worse".
The good news is that those of you who have already redeemed Mortal Kombat X can claim some extra content for free. It's nothing on the level of Mortal Kombat XL, to be clear, but it's better than nothing.
As pointed out by kabirsingh84 over on the PlayStation Plus subreddit, there are a ton of free add-ons for Mortal Kombat X that can be downloaded from the store. These are mostly just bonus skins and the like, but free is free. Get what you can while you can, I say.
