PlayStation Plus Latest Freebies Are Already Outpacing 2020's

Money, money, money, must be funny.

With PlayStation Plus, the payment is pulled out of your account every month and then the selection of games arrive. It's a simple system and it allows me to catch up with a fair few games I've missed (here's looking at you, Titanfall 2). But, did you know that the games offered this year through PS Plus have been valued at a whopping $600?

The maths have been handily worked out by Game Rant, so cheers for that. Since January, we've gotten a rather favourable slate of titles across PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Kicking the new year off with a bang, we got Maneater, GreedFall and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, and I can confidently say that Maneater is an absolute corker of a game and you've got to try it out.

You're a shark with a chip on your fin, hunting down the human that killed your mother and tore you from her corpse. Thanks to the extreme levels of pollution in the Bayou, you mutate and unlock unbelievable abilities like bioelectricity, poison, and a shell of pure bone which mix and match to offer you a unique edge against other apex predators. Transforming into lightning to terrify shark hunters and snaffling anything and everything that gets in your way, what's not to like?

Maneater on the PlayStation 5 offered super speedy loading times and a glorious vibrancy to the underwater environments, yet the PlayStation 4 is still a worthy chunk of plastic and wiring. Here are the titles that cemented its place as one of the most successful home consoles ever.

Control Ultimate Edition, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Oddworld: Soulstorm, Days Gone, Battlefield 5, Stranded Deep - this is but a handful of the games that PlayStation Plus subscribers have had access to over the last five months, and they've gotten the benefit of Sony's magnanimousness. All in all, the games offered this year calculated to $609.84 according to their prices on the PlayStation Store. If you forked out for the yearly subscription, that's twelve times the amount that you paid for the service in January. Even if you pay monthly, you're still in the black, because a whole year of PlayStation Plus comes out at $120.

Over the course of 2020, Sony offered $750 of free titles in its PS Plus selections, so we're already way ahead of the game and 2021 isn't halfway done. Impressive, isn't it? One last thing: be sure to follow our social accounts for updates on the next lot of PlayStation Plus games in June, and play Maneater. That was two things. Sorry.
