PlayStation Plus 10 games to depart in July, including the service's most popular game

Heads up, PlayStation users - amongst all the new games that have been added to PlayStation Plus lately, 10 titles have been confirmed to be leaving the service soon, meaning that you only have a very limited time to play them.

To be clear, this applies to those subscribed to the Extra and Premium PS Plus tiers - the monthly free Essential-tier games remain playable forever, so long as you claim them in time and remain subscribed to the service. Although the library of games offered to those paying for the pricier tiers is enormous, and includes some truly fantastic titles (this year alone, we’ve seen the addition of Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and NEO: The World Ends with You), when Sony decides to pull them from the service, they’re no longer playable for free, even if you already had them installed.

First highlighted on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit by Inevitable_Owl_1869 and verified by GAMINGbible, the 10 games soon to be leaving the PS Plus Extra library are Stray, Bioshock Remastered, Bioshock 2 Remastered, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands Handsome Collection, Raiden V: Director’s Cut, Rogue Stormers, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, Marvel’s Avengers and Flustercluck. Those are some pretty significant losses for the service.

While there’s plenty of popular games listed there, perhaps the most notable is Stray. The adorable adventure game stars a lost cat who must navigate through a decaying cybercity in order to find its way home, and it was released as a day-one exclusive on PS Plus Extra last year. It was recently revealed that Stray was the most-played game in the time since the overhauled PS Plus service launched, and given the hype for it, I can’t say that I’m surprised.

Unfortunately, Sony hasn’t made it clear exactly when these games will be removed from the service - they’re simply categorised under the “last chance to play” section on PS Plus. With that in mind, be sure to give them a go sooner rather than later if there’s anything listed there that you’re yet to play.
