PlayStation Plus Extra Games For July Appear Online

PlayStation Plus Extra Games For July Appear Online

Sony will soon be expanding the Extra tier library of PlayStation Plus with some additional games.

Just a few days ago, this month’s batch of free PlayStation Plus Essential tier games became available for download. In case you missed it, all PS Plus subscribers can get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, and Arcadegeddon.

It seems that Extra tier subscribers will soon be in for another treat. Already, Extra subscribers have access to a library of over 400 PlayStation 4 and 5 games but if you cast your mind back, you’ll recall that Sony mentioned that new games would be added to this library every month. Well, we now have a pretty good idea of what July’s line up will be.

Check out our review for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time which is now available to download via PlayStation Plus.

As spotted by Push Square, Resetera user BlackBate claims to have heard about “some of the games” coming to PlayStation Plus’ Extra tier later this month. We already know that the highly-anticipated Stray will hit the subscription service on 19 July, and BlackBate claims it will be joined by a further seven games.

The first of these is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Square Enix’s JRPG was previously available as a free monthly title but for those of you who missed out, here’s your second chance. According to BlackBate, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected will also soon be available which will surely be a fun refresher ahead of the release of the rebooted Saints Row in August.

The other five games rumoured to be joining the Extra library are titles from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. Subscribers will reportedly gain access to Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry, and Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection. This is certainly great news for gamers who perhaps are yet to try out the series.

As a source, BlackBate is fairly reliable and has previously correctly leaked information on Death Stranding Director’s Cut and Skull & Bones. As always though, this all has to be taken with a pinch of salt until anything is officially confirmed by Sony.
