It's one of our most anticipated games of this year, and luckily, we won't be waiting much longer to leap into Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. However, evidence is pointing towards the fact that the game might arrive on PC, following Sony's trend of bringing its biggest titles to Steam.

Crucially, that's Steam, not Epic Games. Revealed in the legal battle that the company has been waging on Apple, the developer of Fortnite approached Sony with an offer of $200 million for "4-6 titles" to be listed on the Epic Games Store. Ultimately, it's clear that the Japanese company gave Epic Games the cold shoulder as the PC ports of Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone are all only available on Steam. Nevertheless, it's the number of exclusives that Epic Games requested that has turned heads, and fans are putting their heads together to theorise which of Sony's acclaimed games is next. Bloodborne's a popular one, following a rumour that it was definitely in the works with FromSoftware. Or, there's Ghost of Tsushima that continues to go from strength to strength for Sucker Punch Productions. Perhaps it's the 2018 reboot of God of War, ahead of the sequel's release later this year.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a fan that didn't think that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart reveal trailer wasn't the best thing since sliced bread. Now check out our gameplay preview below where the moreish combat takes centre stage.

Yet, it's plausible that it's going to be Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is a curious twist in the tale. DSOGaming points out that Sony refers to Rift Apart as a "Playstation 5 console exclusive" at the end of its latest trailer, which is the same terminology that it used for Death Stranding, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy XVI and Project Athia. The trailer that was released before that one said it was a "PlayStation 5 exclusive." It could be that there's a typo here and the game is sticking to the PlayStation 5 for the foreseeable. But, that trailer would have gone past a lot of people ahead of its release, and at least one person would have raised the fact that it's got misleading information. Right?

As a result, we should still consider Rift Apart to be exclusive to the PlayStation 5... but cross our fingers for a PC port. After all, Sony wants to add more of its games to Steam to "promote further growth in our profitability." What better way to engender this than with one of the most exciting games of the year? We'll let you know when we know more.
