The Internet Has Not Reacted Kindly To The PlayStation 5 Design

I kind of feel sorry for the PlayStation 5. Mere minutes after Sony finally unveiled the design of the long-awaited next-gen console, the internet set about ripping the absolute piss out of it. There are already so many memes. Too many to keep track of, even. But I'll do my best to highlight the funniest ones for you right here.

Before we get into it, if you haven't seen it yet, just check out the reveal trailer below. It's a pretty radical departure from any of the PlayStation consoles that came before it - mostly because it's curvy. It also lines up nicely with the design of the DualSense controller which Sony revealed a few months earlier. Although the internet tore that apart too, so I guess that's just the way it has to be.

Don't attack me, but... I kind of like it? I like that its got a few curves and doesn't look like another generic box. There's a bit of magic to it. Unfortunately, the majority of the internet did not seem to share my view. The PlayStation 5 design has been compared to an Ethernet router, popular anime characters, and even the Pope.

I mean, as much as I quite like the design, I have to admit that this particular piece of work below is outstanding. I would also definitely buy a PlayStation 5 if it came attached to a duck.

So in summary, I don't think people hate it, but it is very easy to make fun of it. Believe me when I say the memes above barely scratch the surface of what's on Twitter, and I've no doubt more memes are on the way.

But in the interests of ending things here on a positive note, I'll leave you with one user who seemed to quite like the design.
