Good news!

PlayStation 4 exclusives The Last Of Us Part 2 and Ghost Of Tsushima officially have new release dates.

The good news is that we don't have long at all to wait until we can play both games. The bad news? They're less than one month apart, meaning this is sure to be a busy summer for PS4 owners.

The Last Of Us Part 2, which was indefinitely delayed from its May release date last month in the midst of the current global crisis, will now launch worldwide on June 19th.

Sucker Punch's open world samurai adventure Ghost Of Tsushima will now arrive on July 17th. The game was initially supposed to launch on June 26th, but The Last Of Us Part 2's revised date will no doubt have played a role in the game getting pushed a little farther back.

Sony Interactive Entertainment head of worldwide studios Hermen Hulst wrote in a blog post: "As our teams at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Worldwide Studios approach development milestones and confront a world changed by Covid-19, we find ourselves having to adapt to today's ever-changing environment.

"I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it's not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances.

"Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can't wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months."

Ghost of Tsushima will be released on July 17th.

This happy news comes just as major plot details for The Last Of Us Part 2 have leaked online, which is considerably less happy news. I mention this not to draw your attention to the spoilers, but to warn you to stay extra vigilant over the next few months.

I've already had one or two unsavoury individuals ruin some pretty huge story beats for me, so exercise caution on the internet going forward... and maybe think about muting a few key words and phrases to do with the game.

If nothing else, it's great to hear that two of the biggest releases of the year are moving forward with (relatively) little disruption following such a widespread period of uncertainty. I just hope I'll be able to get through The Last Of Us Part 2 before Tsushima drops... although who am I kidding? I'm booking that whole week off and tearing straight through the game in one sitting.
