'The Last Of Us Part 2' Gives Ellie A Secret And Incredible Ability

Ammo-azing.

Although The Last of Us Part 2 has been out quite a while now, there are still random little bits and pieces we're discovering about the game - namely a cool ability Ellie has that we never knew about. The post-apocalyptic bad-ass can catch ammo in midair, what a legend.

This slowed down video of an animation found on Reddit shows that after killing an enemy that spawns ammo for Ellie to pick up, there is a moment it is suspended in mid-air with a command indicating that if you press triangle, you could pick the ammo up. What's even more impressive at this moment is that when you do the command at the right second, Ellie's animation reaches out to grab the ammo just like someone would catching a baseball.

You might say, well, 'of course, she would be able to catch it', but it just makes it seem like Naughty Dog really did intend for this to be a feature of Ellie's animations with the way her eyes follow the path of the ammo before snatching it out of the air. There's an incredible amount of detail there for that to happen.

Fans on Reddit have been praising Ellie's absolute skill for being able to casually shotgun someone in the chest before catching the item - "Ellie Wick" says one user, while another says "this game is so smooth and the combat is incredible".

It seems kind of funny that people are only finding these details in The Last of Us Part 2 after a year of the game being in the hands of the players, but it should be noted that there are players still only just finding the first Easter Eggs of the original The Last of Us - and man is that Easter Egg creepy and crawly. Literally. Cheers Dualshockers.
