According to Pornhub's 2022 recap, PlayStation users continue to be the randiest of the gamers, with a 21% increase in visitors compared to last year's data.

I'm not going to sit here and pretend that those people are pure souls. You saw the chokehold that Modern Warfare II's Ghost had on the girls and the gays and how it made all the boys cry. Well, the first Ghost/Soap fanfic was uploaded to AO3 in 2011. Read it and weep. Or don't. Maybe you're more of a visual person.

Returning to Pornhub's report, the most popular gaming characters that people were searching for including D.Va, Widowmaker, Mercy and Tracer from Overwatch 2, Jenny Mod from Minecraft, Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, Mona, slime and Hu Tao from Genshin Impact, and Ruby, Aura and Chun Li from Fortnite. Anyone else notice that a literal slime from a game was significantly ranked in Pornhub searches and there are no male characters in this list?

"PlayStation makes up nearly three quarters of visits from game consoles, an +20.6% increase in share since 2021," continued the report. "Xbox makes up just over one quarter of console visits, a decrease in share of -30.6% in the last year. Pornhub visitors from older game systems like the PS Vita, WiiU and 3DS continued to shrink, each making up less than one percent of console traffic." The whole thing is concerning, but the fact that there are still some searching for pornography on their WiiU is perhaps the most chilling thing about this.

Earlier this year, The New Yorker published an article revealing that Pornhub and other platforms owned by MindGeek have been hosting videos of children and videos of non-consensual sexual acts and preventing these from being removed from their websites. “[The New Yorker] chose to ignore the fact that MindGeek has more comprehensive and effective policies than any other major platform on the internet, and decided to peddle the same gross mischaracterizations that anti-porn extremists have spewed for decades,” said a spokesperson of the departure of MindGeek's chief executive and chief operating officers shortly after the investigation came out.
