'Star Wars Eclipse' Is 'Detroit: Become Human' Studio's Next Game

Jeff Grubb has information on a new Star Wars project

You may or may not remember Detroit: Become Human. The former PlayStation 4 exclusive continues to be a pretty popular Let’s Play title and was pretty damn graphically impressive upon launch, using some of the best motion-capture performances we’d seen in games at that point.

Now Quantic Dream, the studio behind the game, is looking for inspiration from the Star Wars universe for its next adventure.

That's according to reporter Jeff Grubb (via GameRant), who talked on GrubbSnax about the future of Quantic Dream and it seems that it’s firmly focused on the world of Star Wars. Earlier this year, EA lost its exclusive rights to making Star Wars games and Lucasfilm Games began working with other developers to see how the space saga could be fleshed out in more styles with new studios. Quantic Dream seems to have stepped up to the plate and is producing something “open-world”, “action-adventure”, and “multiplayer”.

According to Grubb Star War Eclipse is the name of the project and it’s “ready to be announced soon”, so soon that it’ll be “before the end of the year”. Naturally the biggest event that something of this scale could be announced at is The Game Awards. Though the ceremony is about awarding the last year for their accomplishments, its also an event to get everyone looking towards the future of games too, with game announcements. Star Wars Eclipse could be among them.

Additionally Grubb seems to think that the game will be set during the High Republic era of the Star Wars story. As always it’s important to take anything like this with a pinch of salt, even if the information is from a well-known insider like in this case. It’s not long until the end of the year though so we’ll be able to find out soon enough if this story is true.
