It is a truth universally acknowledged that Red Dead Redemption 2’s Micah is the worst. He is a snivelling, lying, manipulative monster. He is the pizza burn on the roof of the world’s mouth. He is the weird stain you can’t quite get off your favorite shirt. Dear reader: he is a right knob.
I’ve written before about how much I hate Micah for his role in Rockstar’s epic 2018 Western. You are, of course, supposed to hate him. The fact that he still gets under my skin, years after I finished the game, is a testament to the excellent writing, as well as actor Peter Blomquist’s terrifying performance.
It wasn’t that long ago, in fact, that I wrote about how I couldn’t quite bring myself to bust Micah out of prison in Red Dead Redemption 2’s second chapter during a recent replay of the game. Having learned the hard way through my first playthrough what he was like and what he was capable of, I had no desire to unleash him a second time. I see now I’m not alone in having that reluctance to let him walk free.

Reddit user WonderousLife recently shared a similar experience. They explained how they’ve recently been playing through Red Dead Redemption 2 with their mum, but that progress has stalled. Why? It turns out mum doesn’t want to break Micah out of jail. That woman has amazing instincts, I’ll give her that.
“Me and my Mum play RDR2 together, it's her favourite game,” the Reddit user wrote. “She has gotten her own PS4 to play it herself but is refusing to break Micah out of jail in Strawberry.”
In an attempt to help convince their mum, WonderousLife actually reached out to Micah actor Peter Blomquist himself, who was only too happy to send her a message asking if she’d be so good as to help him out. Take a look for yourself below!
Whether or not this intervention succeeded remains to be seen, but I’ve no doubt WonderousLife’s mum will regret letting Micah out as soon as he drags her into a rampage across Strawberry.
