Red Dead Redemption 2 graphics update makes game look photorealistic

Red Dead Redemption 2 graphics update makes game look photorealistic

There's a remake in my boots

If you thought Red Dead Redemption 2 couldn't get any better looking, prepare to eat your cowboy hat. Assuming you have a cowboy hat, that is. If you don't, go out and get one. Then come back here and eat it. It's okay, I can wait.

A shiny new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 has somehow found a way to make Rockstar's stunning open-world game even more of a beauty by overhauling some of the game's textures.

Modder ‘WickedHorseMan’ has been hard at work on a mod that essentially reworks all the ground and rock textures in the game. While that might not sound like the most exciting thing, I'm here to tell you it makes all the difference. There are, after all, an awful lot of rocks in Red Dead Redemption 2. And even more ground.

As reported by DSO Gaming, the modder has made use of fancy AI techniques such as ESRGAN to really spruce up the textures by four times. I'm not saying you're going to stop to admire every single rock, but these changes add up, trust me. Also, I did literally just spend five minutes admiring some of the rocks. There's some seriously photorealistic-levels of quality going on in this mod.

You can download the HD Texture Pack for yourself from here. Do note, as always, that this mod will only work with the PC version of the game. You'd think I wouldn't need to explain that, but you'd be surprised.
