Red Dead Redemption 2 players realise they've been fishing wrong for years

Red Dead Redemption 2 players realise they've been fishing wrong for years

But there's a catch

Have you ever sunk a lot of hours into a game before realising you have been doing a simple feature incorrectly the entire time? We know you have but don’t worry, this is a judgement-free zone!

Another judgement-free zone is r/RDR2 which saw players come together to share some of their most embarrassing realisations after sinking a few hours into Red Dead Redemption 2.

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!

From people not realising their horses were starving to never getting the hang of the game’s duelling mechanic, it seems the giant open-world title had some confusing features for a lot of players.

However, one area quite a lot of people (including me) struggled with was the fishing mechanic. Listen, fishing is supposed to be relaxing and by the end of one fishing session, both me and Arthur were swearing in frustration.

It seems I am not the only one as one user said: “Didn’t realise until my 2nd play through you could make fishing easier by pulling up and down on the left stick, use the right stick to stop them from resisting, and change the reeling button to holding down instead of rotating the right stick”.

This of course only applies to those playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on controller but this is still a handy tip for those struggling to make a catch.

With fishing not only rewarding you with a good supply of food, it can also make Arthur quite a decent profit if his fishing abilities net him a legendary fish. Or it may just be a way to unwind after dealing with Micah all day.

Additionally, with some players admitting that they had wandered around aimlessly for multiple hours before realising they could open a map, it’s a good reminder that someone is always worse off than you.
