Red Dead Redemption 2 player spots tragic detail, and now I'm crying

Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 have found yet another small detail in the game, but this time, one that's absolutely heartbreaking.

If there was an award for the single-player game with the most details and hidden mechanics within it, I think we all know which one would be winning.

Rockstar Games really put everything it had into Red Dead Redemption 2, and it shows. I can’t think of any other single-player title which continues to be the source of so much discussion and discoveries almost half a decade on from its launch. Lately, fans have been uncovering all sorts about the game’s wildlife and open world - from the secret feature in the hunting camps that you might not have known about, to a subtle animal interaction which has a really helpful hidden mechanic attached to it.

Before we get into it, take a look at some of the funniest Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

As Game Rant reports, one RDR2 fan on Reddit has now highlighted one heartbreaking detail from the end of the game, which ties into the fate of two characters in the original Red Dead Redemption. Minor spoilers follow, so beware.

The characters in question are Abigail and John Marston. In one scene during the finale of RDR2, when John is told by Abigail to get to work bringing up their son, it turns out that they’re not only stood in the same spot that they got married, but they’re also right next to the location of their graves in Red Dead Redemption. My heart. It hurts.

Other Reddit users have had a similar heartbroken reaction, although many are in awe of the detail: “Everyday, we learn a new thing about this game, it’s a gift that keeps on giving,” diamondpanther171 commented. “The parallels and foreshadowing [of] the RDR games is insane,” wrote Ok-Cantaloupe1529. “This game does so many things I don't realise until someone points it out. Thank you for this post,” added ComparisonDesigner.

At this point, I'm sure we all know that this won't be the last detail that fans find hidden in the game. It truly looks like it's going to keep us going until the next instalment eventually releases.
