Happy Friday all. Assuming you’re not already totally consumed by Elden Ring (how many of you are “off sick” today, I wonder), I hope you’re ready for some juicy Resident Evil content. Look, there’s never a bad time for more Resident Evil.

Last month, we covered this incredible fan-made Code: Veronica remake, which is currently being developed by a small group of very talented fans. Now, we’ve been treated to a full five minutes of gameplay footage, and oh boy, gamers are going to want to have this whole game in their lives right now.

Before we get into the new gameplay footage, be sure to check out the trailer for the fan remake below.

Posted on YouTube, this video showcases the first five minutes of the game, captured in Unity, running in real time. Although the creators note that the gameplay isn’t final, and there are still some small details to be added and changes to be made, I think we can all agree it looks spectacular already.

Fans in the comments section have been pouring out their support: “I gotta say, this looks so awesome and realistic. Capcom should hire the people who created this fan remake and have them join forces to work on the RE4 remake and all of the [other] Resident Evil games and turn them into remakes. This masterpiece is a A+, good job,” commented Isiah Holliday. “Awesome work!! I can’t wait to play it. Code Veronica is one of my all time favourites,” wrote TheFitGamerDad.

The team behind the remake have been clear that they respect the fact that Capcom own all the rights to the game, and so if they get asked to take it down, they’ll do so. Fingers crossed it can be finished and make it out into the world before that happens. Be sure to check out more details on the team's website here, if you're interested.

Although this is just a fan-game (albeit a very impressive one), by the sounds of it, we could also be hearing about some official Resident Evil remakes this year, too. Earlier this week, fans spotted that some remastered assets from Outbreak had been published on Capcom’s website, which began speculation that a remake could be in the works. Not only that, but there are also some very prevalent rumours about a Resident Evil 4 remake circulating, too. So, it’s all happening. We’ll just have to wait and see if either of them are officially announced.
