In case you’d forgotten, last year, a whole new RoboCop game, RoboCop: Rogue City, was announced out of nowhere by Nacon, promising an entirely fresh story based around the first three movies. Not much was given away about it at the time, but last night, we got a pretty great update.
As part of the Nacon Connect livestream, a gameplay trailer was revealed, showcasing the fast-paced, explosive action we’ll be able to dig into as protagonist Alex Murphy. Oh, and we have a release window, too (unfortunately, we still have quite a wait ahead of us).

“You play as Alex Murphy, whose features will be familiar to fans of the cyborg because actor Peter Weller agreed to be the model for the game's protagonist,” a press release reads. “RoboCop: Rogue City will combine first-person shooter gameplay with exploration of Detroit and multiple-choice dialogue.”

The game is being developed by Teyon, the team responsible for the 2019 release, Terminator: Resistance, which wasn’t exactly a fantastic game by any means. Fingers crossed that RoboCop will turn out a little better, though - what we can see from the trailer does look really promising.
Speaking of Terminator, in the same livestream, Nacon also confirmed that a new open-world Terminator game is in development (not by Teyon this time, mind you, but Nacon Studio Milan). For now, we’ve only been given a cinematic to work with (a cool one, though), but the concept alone is really promising - hopefully fans of the franchise will be left a little more satisfied with that than they were Resistance when it eventually comes out.
Anyway, back to RoboCop. As you can see in the trailer, the game is due to release in June 2023, so it’s still almost a full year to go. It’ll be releasing on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, although I can’t imagine it being released on the latter as anything but a cloud version - we’ll have to wait and see.
