Strolling on the streets of Los Santos, a Grand Theft Auto Online player was met with a strange sight in the sky — a blue planet hiding behind some clouds.
Reddit user No-Bee-3608 shared their discovery in a short video featuring their character spotting the planet through their sniper rifle scope. Given the colour of the sky and the planet itself, it’s easily overlooked in the chaos of the game, and players are replying with references to Star Wars, Zelda, The Truman Show and more.
Which just goes to show that no one is that sure on what this weird planet is doing floating above Los Santos. Of course, it’s plausible that this is something to tie into the spooky content that Rockstar Games has in store for the community. Another player appeared to have had a close encounter with a UFO before a lightning strike seemingly struck their jet and the object vanished.

While we were aware of the return of the Alien Survivals mode offering players double GTA$ and RP gain for their exploits, and the free Republican Space Ranger Livery, there’s been no mention of the planet in Rockstar Games’ Halloween-themed update. The studio might be keeping its cards close to its chest in order to surprise curious players with a new event or encounter closer to Halloween itself.
And, one more thing to note is that it’s a blue planet, meaning that if it’s located in the Solar System, it’s likely to be either Uranus or Neptune. The former provides the game’s writers with a lot more material for the sense of humour that Grand Theft Auto Online has, though it is possible that it is an undiscovered planet that’s home to aliens waiting to invade Los Santos.

Grand Theft Auto Online players will be enjoying crossover content with the upcoming Definitive Edition of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III. These goodies haven’t been shown off to us yet, however, I don’t think we’ll be waiting for long as the games will be released on November 11th.
