Scott Eastwood Wants To Play Wolverine In The MCU

As long as fanbases on the internet exist, there’s always going to be people demanding to see certain actors in specific roles. We could probably have a full recast of every MCU character who’s ever existed if the internet was in charge, which could be pretty interesting, actually.

Anyway, in case you weren’t aware, one of these favourite fan-castings is Scott Eastwood as Wolverine. I couldn’t actually tell you why this is such a popular choice - I guess he looks kind of similar to Hugh Jackman? Kind of? But anyway, it is, and the actor clearly quite likes the idea himself, too. 

Even though Scott Eastwood might have his eyes on the role, that doesn't mean Hugh Jackman is ready to step down anytime soon - check out this interview below.

During an interview with PopCulture about his new rom-com I Want You Back, the actor was asked if fans would ever see him as Wolverine: “You never know. You just never know in Hollywood,” he said. 

Adding onto that, Eastwood was asked if he thinks fans should start a petition, to which he replied “I think you should”, and that it was up to fans to “start it up”. I Want You Back co-star, Clark Backo, added that she’d sign it too. 

The actor previously spoke about the possibility of taking on the role back in 2018, during an interview with ScreenRant. At the time, he said he’d be “100 percent” down, “if the opportunity presents itself”, and added how much he personally adores the character.

“I love Wolverine. He’s one of my favourite comic book characters of all time,” he told ScreenRant. “He’s a renegade. Total badass renegade. He’s kind of, you know, a loose cannon, […] doesn’t play by the rules. […] He’s the kind of character that I love.”

Eastwood isn’t the only actor who’s been weighing in on popular fan-castings lately - recently, Sebastian Stan, best known for for his role as Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier in the MCU, said “never say never” to the potential of him taking on the role of a young Luke Skywalker. He previously added that he’d only take the role if he had Mark Hamill’s blessing, who has previously joked he could be Stan’s father because of how similar they look. As of now, of course, none of this means anything official, but it’s still undeniably fun to think about.
