Skyrim still has secrets

We love Skyrim here, much like the majority of the gaming world. It’s a wonderfully popular game that seems to live this unending life - I swear people will still be playing Skyrim in 20 years.

Not only is it a great RPG that manages to whisk you away to another world, but its size and scope mean the game hides a lot of secrets. A discussion on Reddit asked users to share some of the lesser-known features of Skyrim. Some of the things that perhaps not everyone knows, and they delivered some great details.

Skyrim is so vast that players are still finding tips and tricks over a decade later

The top reply, one that had me stunned, is “If your reflexes are good enough, or if you use Slow Time, you can actually catch arrows and bolts fired at you out of midair.” This is something we all have to try out. This next tip is very good for early money-making, “You can catch salmon eggs for alchemy by harvesting salmon jumping the rivers.” This means you can create expensive water-breathing potions and sell them for top dollar.

A lot of the tips are handy for increasing your skills, like this one, “Casting Soul Trap on a dead body will still give you the skill increase for Conjuration.” Or, if you want to revel in killing and improve your stats you can use “the civil war battles to take over forts provide an endless supply of human victims for you to leisurely max out your werewolf perk tree.” Works for vampires too.

If you dig through some of the replies to these tips you’ll find even more. The whole thread is easily summed up by this Redditor who remarked, “How the f**k have I put at least 100 hours a year for the last 12 years into this game and didn’t know half the stuff here haha.”
