'Skyrim' Glitch Lets Players Instantly Max Out Combat Stats

'Skyrim' Glitch Lets Players Instantly Max Out Combat Stats

A very cheeky exploit

Despite being more than 10 years old, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim remains full of glitches. There's an argument to be made that this is all part of the fantasy RPGs charm, of course - especially given that many of the game's bugs can actually be genuinely helpful.

It seems for every glitch that crashes the game or inadvertently blocks off entire questlines, there are two more that aid the Dragonborn in ways Bethesda never intended. Such was the case for one lucky player, who accidentally discovered a way to boost their two-handed skill to the max level with minimum effort.

Before we move on, take a look at some of the best Skyrim wins and fails below!

A Reddit user by the name of InstructionSlow3396 recently stumbled across an incredibly rare beast: a Blood Dragon that just wouldn't die, no matter how many hits it took. While an immortal dragon sounds like the stuff of nightmares for any adventurer, this particular monster simply stood motionless and allowed our hero to wail on it endlessly.

The result, as you can see in the video below, was a quick and easy way to max out combat skills. With a little patience, all InstructionSlow3396 needed to do was continually attack the dragon and watch the skills tick up. Easy peasy.

Unfortunately, while this is a truly excellent glitch for any player looking to quickly level up, there's no clear way to replicate it. This dragon's infinite hit box seems like a freak accident. A complete and utter fluke in a massive and unpredictable open world, making it nearly impossible to purposefully pull off.

The good news is that if you're really set on cheating your way through Skyrim, there are plenty of other ways to level up easily. Just be warned that most of them are nowhere near as rapid as this one. But as long as you're patient, you'll be fine.
