You’d assume that everyone who wants to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would have by now, but apparently not it seems. Skyrim truly is the gift that keeps on giving, regardless of whether you want that gift or not.

Over the years, the game has had various re-releases. There’s the remastered Special Edition, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, the expanded Legendary Edition, and the extra expanded Anniversary Edition. "Surely no more," I hear you say. Wrong. There’s more.

Skyrim has provided us with plenty of amusing content over the years. Take a look at some of our favourite wins and fails below.

Technically it’s not a new edition but last year’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition does now appear to be coming to Nintendo Switch - which is hugely exciting news for everyone it's exciting for (a shrinking pool, but a pool nonetheless). Previously, the Anniversary Edition was only released on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

The Nintendo Switch version has reportedly been rated by the Taiwanese games rating board, suggesting that a release might be just around the corner. Spotted by Switch Brazil, the Switch port of the Anniversary Edition was given its rating on 15 May, even though it hasn’t been officially announced by Bethesda.

Skyrim has an odd history when it comes to the Nintendo Switch. Back in 2017, Skyrim was featured in the console’s reveal footage but Bethesda later came out and said that the game wasn’t actually releasing on Switch. Todd Howard then reversed that stance and Skyrim was eventually released to the console in late 2017.

The Anniversary Edition has plenty of new juicy content for Switch owners to sink their teeth into. The game comes with over 500 Creation Club elements, the ability to fish and own an aquarium (Why not?), and all available DLC. Ideally, we could do with an official update from Bethesda but this does seem promising.
