'Skyrim' Stealth Gets Huge Improvement Thanks To New Feature

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been out over a decade, and from the PlayStation 5 to Google Alexa people just can’t get enough of it. 

Part of the reason that Bethesda’s epic has thrived, is the passionate modding community. While the studio long stopped adding major updates, waves of talented fans have stepped up to bring Skyrim into the modern era. From the environments to the NPCs, it feels like everything in Skyrim has had a complete realistic overhaul at some point. Just by looking at the footage of someone who has downloaded a mod or two (give or take 600) you can really see the difference these fans have made to the game.

We previously wrote about this mod which changed the look of the standard lock in Skyrim to make it fit in more with its surroundings. Modder JaySherpa has taken the keyhole experience to a new level by allowing you to “Take A Peek” into the opening beyond.

While this adds to immersion, it’s not the only benefit of the mod. Seeing on the other side of a door can be the difference between taking your enemy by surprise and being ambushed. The description says “What's going on behind that door? Wondering if there's an angry troll on the other side? Now you get to know without actually going through the door.”

The mod not only allows you to duck down and take a look at what’s on the other side of the keyhole. Sometimes NPCs will come up to you while you are mid-peep and ask you what you’re doing blowing your cover. This mod could be big for stealth gameplay in Skyrim as long as, you know, you use it stealthily.
