'Skyrim' Turned Into 'Red Dead Redemption', Looks Surprisingly Good

Ahh Skyrim. Even more than a decade after its original release, it continues to be released, re-released, modded, chopped up, changed and enhanced by fans the world over. A real fraken-game.

So what then, if you decided to mix Skyrim with another of the greatest games ever made - Red Dead Redemption 2. Surely, you’d get a mega-game, too scary to be kept alive yet too beautiful to kill. Well I don’t know about that, but one modder has attempted this smooshing of the games and come out with something that actually looks pretty neat.

Posting to the r/Skyrim subreddit, user Jackfjdah1 has done a little jiggery-pokery to get their game looking like a mish-mash of the two. As reported by GameRant, the clip seemingly adds in some Western-style clothes and weapons (kind of, the rifle is shooting some sort of spell) as well as what I’m guessing are some light graphical mods and calls it a day. Job done. The result is surprisingly well executed, and with a few more tweaks would probably make for an entirely enjoyable experience to sink a few hours into.

“The sh*t people have done to this game is amazing,” as SwordofGlass so eloquently puts it. Of course, if you’re in the mood for more Skyrim, you could go ahead and download this package of 1500 mods and ray tracing. It looks phenomenal but I know my computer wouldn’t be able to handle it.

As far as The Elder Scrolls VI goes… no news is surely good news, right? Beyond knowing that Bethesda and Microsoft are currently working on it, we have nothing in the way of hints as to when we might be able to get our hands on it, nor what the game itself will entail. A leak earlier this year said that the game will be set in the Hammerfell region of Tamriel and will come out around 2025/2026 but that sounds like educated shots in the dark to me. Keep your eyes peeled though and so will we.
